I just added a media room to my house 20 x 22 and would like some advice on components.
Would like a 7.1 system and want to see if I can use some of the equipment I already have.
My favorite speakers (15 years and like brand new) are my JBL LX 66 towers. I have yet to find a speaker made today with the same midrange.
I was powering them with Yamaha MX 800 straight amplifier. I also just bought a sony grand wega 60" tv.
I now need to choose a receiver (was looking at around a $1000) and the remainder of the speakers. I have a center channel wamo right now which sounds good for sound but not speech) I would also spend around 1000 to 1500 on speakers.
Can I use my original amp or do I need to upgrade?
