I am in the process of ordering a new system and in need of some urgent advise...
The following is a list of equipment that i'm considering purchasing, please advise..
Yamaha RX-V1400 Receiver
" DDF540 Dvd Player
" CDC585 CD-Player
Paradigm Monitor 11 v3 Fronts
" CC370 Center
" ADP370 Rears
Yamaha YSSW315 Sub Woofer
Toshiba 61" Rear Projection TV, Theatre Cool VH9 Model
Please could someone let me know if this a good set-up etc. Please Please

Looks good. However, do you plan to do a lot of listening to cds to merit a multiple disc player?
If not, your dvd player will play cds just fine.
Save some bucks. |

I would change your receiver from the Yamaha to a NAD 753. The new Yamaha 1400 and 2400 are improvements on previous models but still no match for the NAD's. I would do this even if you have to scale back your mains to the 9's or 7's[which are my favorite in this line]. I would also get a Paradigm sub like the PDR12 which is way better than the Yamaha sub. I really like Paradigm's and have heard them with several recievers over the years and the NAD is by far the best sonically. Good luck with your choices. |
