Hello all,

I have recently bought a new house and I'm setting up a home theatre in my basement. The room is about 17x15. I previously had a 5.1 set-up but have no experience with 7.1 or di-pole speakers. I am thinking about trying a 7.1 set-up in this room, but do not want to have the couch too far from the back wall, given the size of the room and the size of the TV I am looking to buy (60ish inches). Any suggestions for speaker placement and seating placement? Can I keep the seating fairly close to the back wall if I go with switchable bi-pole/di-pole speakers instead of direct reflecting? Should I just stick with a 5.1 set-up to keep the seating far-enough away from the screen.

Thanks for you help.
