I am going to prewire my room under the drywall before I hang it. I am thinking of using satellite speakers mounted to the ceiling pointing downward. Any input on any of the flollowing questions would be GREATLY appreciated. Is it best to place all 7 speakers the same distance from the listening position for 7.1? Should the rear surrounds be the same distance from the listening position for 7.1 setup? What if the the side surrounds are not same ditance as rear surrounds? What about the angle they should be at for the downward angle calculations? Should I use sattelite speakers for the left and right mains too, or use towers? |

Best yes, if possible Idealy yes amp should correct that with distance settings best not directed right at the ears, but in the general litening area your choice, ideally they should be timbre matched with all speakers inc. center, but front three are most critical |

Thanks for those quick answers. I have a few more questions if you or anyone else has time to respond. What about the difference in recommended speaker placement for dvd-audio vs theatrical surround sound placement.? Keep in mind I am wiring for 7.1 Two on the sides and 2 in the rear. I think that threre are issues with having a true rear image or something for audio surround.
