I have an old Sony STR-DE515 "AC-3 Ready" Pro Logic Receiver. I have it hooked up to my DVD player via the audio cables, the DVD drives the TV display with a S vidoe cable. My question is, can the receiver process "Surround Sound" without a "AC-3 Ready" Processor? If I turn on the Surround Sound and select PRO LOGIC, is my configuration going to give me the proper sound? Thanks in advance for any help |

I also get the protector error, usually after using the remote to change the volume. I've never been able to figure out why. I don't have the rear speakers in my setup (just the 3 in the front and the subwoofer). Its possible you don't have the Surround Sound mode set correctly, I always use Dolby when watching DVDs and turn the Surround Sound off (just stereo) when watching everything else. |
