Hi, I am new to the HT scene & I am thinking about setting up my first assembled system. I have looked at some of the HTIBs at the so called "electronic susperstores" & honestly they just dont seem "right".

So I have decided to put up a system myself. I have a modest budget of $600 for receiver & speakers, I already have a DvD player.

I have 2 questions :

1)Any recomendations in the above price range or is it just impossible?
2)Where can I possibly audition the HUGE SELECTION of stuff available apart from the stupid electronic superstores ??!!
