I have this recevier for about 6 years. I finally hooked up 6 Channel Direct from the DVD player w/ S Video - looks great sounds great. I am wondering what the Coax and Digital Out even do? The manual doesn't even say what kind of singal (A or V) either one carries. I searched on the web but came up with no "real" answers. Any ideas if I even need to use these outputs? And if so, for what?

Thanks in advance for all your help,

CM

Both of those are used for 5.1 dolby digital or dts or some form of surround sound. You need a receiver that has those inputs to utilize this feature.

My revceiver does have those inputs! I am wondering if I need to use them, and if so how? What signals do they carry? Better to go with Optical over coaxial? I have no clue....
