I was wanting to know how to get ac-3 and dts processed audio out of a decoder and into a seperate device that has 5.1 inputs
the reason being that i don't want to use the speaker hook-ups on the decoder, but the speakers on a seperate audio system that has 5.1 inputs

If your "decoder" has neither 5.1 line outputs (6 in all) for the decoded audio signal, nor an optical or coax output for the undecoded audio signal, then you have a problem that's beyond me.
