My receiver just died on me (it was a samsung HT-DB600), and I am now left with five 6-ohm speakers and a woofer that is 3ohm. Each of the five speakers is 80 watts, and the sub is 100watts. don't know if this matters, but the receiver says that its 160W. Does anyone know of a good(not too costly) receiver that would work well with these speakers? PS my knowledge regarding what will work with what is very limited. |

Assuming your speakers are Samsung as well, receiver won't really matter that much. Samsung speakers are not generally known for their high fidelity. Try CNET.com for recommendations. Buy the cheapest receiver you can find that will accommodate your speakers. Since your speakers were initially powered by Samsung, almost anything from a reputable manufacturer will be an improvement. |
