Hi - I recently got a new Sony 32" HD TV. When I connect ny Pioneer XV-HTD510 to it using s-video for the video signal the display is in black and white only. When I use the yellow video cable from the composite set and unplug the s-video display is color.

I've looked around for a sestting for s-video output on the pioneer unit and something on the tv but can;t find anything. Does anyone have an idea why the s-video limits my display to grayscale?

Sorry, no. I'd contact the seller and ask them for assistance. Possibly Sony has an internet help line with some FAQ's.
