How do you rate these Receivers mainly for music listening?
Denon 1604 or 1804, Marantz 4400 or 5400

You can read some reviews of these in the pro links review section-the marantz is probably better for music.I am still on the fence as to whether I like denon or not(I own a denon as well as others)-denon definitely doesn't seem as high end sounding as marantz,but MIGHT be a little more powerful. |

I have 7300 and it's great for music. I've read reviews on the 5400 and it has a very good power supply and specs. But speakers will determine the sound. The Marantz has a warmer sound to Denons somewhat brighter tone. So speakers towards the brighter end would suit Marantz. |

Marantz. Pure and simple. Denon is a little brighter/ artificial sounding by comparison. My Marantz AVR was great sounding (replaced with Pioneer Elite). |

I just bought a marantz sr7400 with an amplifier. I am using nht st-4's for my fronts, sc2 for center and sb-3's for my rears. I bought this from a recommendation of a friend. I have not heard them yet. Was this a good buy? |
