Hey I am really new to home theatre. I got a whole system ready to go. I hav a sony all-in-one home theatre (yes i know its not that good but i got it for free). I have no clue how to hook up the system though. I have the DVD hooked up and that works fine. Can anyone tell me what do I hook up to make the cable tv work through the home theatre ? |

in general hook the video and audio output of the cable box into the ht receiver. then run the video monitor out to your tv set. if you post model numbers of the equipment i can get a tad more specific. |

Your tv doesnt have a digital audio out, so your going to have to hook analog audio from the tv's variable audio out to the tv analog audio in on the receiver. Being as you have an HDTV monitor, you might consider getting some HDTV to watch on it by getting an HD cable box. Then you could hook up the cable boxes digital audio out to the receiver and enjoy an hdtv picture with digital surround sound. |
