i scored a pair of pioneer cst2100k tower speakers and i am hoping to use my ladys jvc dvd, but am not sure of a good receiver and surround sound to go with it, any suggestions or help from someone experienced would be appreciated........help me....

I wouldn't buy anything to "go with" those speakers.

Buy some nice av equipment as you can afford it and upgrade those speakers when you can.

Might want to start with a Denon 1905 receiver($500), a set of definitive technology pro 80's as surrounds($225), anda pro 100 center channel($200), and just buy mains when you can afford them.

If you try to buy an amp based on the limited power handling of those pioneers you're just going to be screwing yourself in the long run.
