my computer has a spdif(coax)out and my stereo has 5.1 inputs powerdvd on my computer can decode the audio into 5.1 so my question is can i get the spdif(coax) into my stereo's 5.1 inputs without the use of a a/v receiver, maybe some sort of converter or something? |

1st of all: buy a good amp... 2nd, if you only have SPDIF out on your pc (instead of 5 seperate outputs), then you need a seperate decoder to decode the 5.1 (Digital) channel. Concidered the fact that your amp does not support digital signals. I know, since i had the same problem... PS sorry for the bad English.... |

Yes they make convertors to go from SPDIF to 5.1. They cost under $200, come with a remote, and a free amplifier as well. I got this one at Best Buy for $149 a month or so ago: http://www.epinions.com/pr-Pioneer_VSX-D412_Home_Audio_Receiver ;) |
