Lo all, I need some help with interconnects. Equipment: Receiver: Pioneer VSX-810s TV: Samsung 5085w HD DVR:SA 8300HD The HD receiver has both optical, coax, and HDMI outputs. The TV has component, RCA, DVI, and HDMI inputs and RCA outputs. I would like to connect the HD receiver to my A/V receiver via COAX but it only has 1 input and it is labeled DVD. Should I consider a optical to Coax converter and if so, is here any significant quality loss? |

Joe, It doesnt matter what the input is labeled on your receiver. If you connect that to your HD-tuner, you'll just have to turn the receiver to 'DVD' to listen to the source. Not too confusing, right?? If I had a choice, and I had only one 5.1 receiver input, I would save it for the DVD player. If you have an extra optical, then you're all set, and you have one for each. Yes, if you also have an optical input, but that bugger to use too. For which component???....It doesnt matter. |

Thank you Paul. Someone on AVSFORUM advised me that the port may be re-assignable also. I need to give that a try... |
