I am having trouble getting my center speaker to be very loud at all. Both my left and right, and surround speakers seem to be louder then it, and i have it turned up to +6 under the audio settings. I have checked the connections to and from it and they all seem to be fine. Any advice on what to do to get this speaker to be louder? For movies it works ok but for music and tv, the sounds tend to be louder then voices because thats what mainly comes from the center speaker. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

Bob.

Hallo there.

Turn down the left and right fronts and the split-stereo surrounds level down, just a little bit more say -4db for the left right and the split-stereo surrounds.

If this does not work have you got a sound pressure level metre a good analogue one is god for readouts and cost a little has £25.00 pounds.

Firstly what loudspeakers are you running for the fronts, as the bottom rule is they have to be and must be all the same make and model to perform well and as film soundtracks can be very complex it’s down to the home cinema owner to figure it all out, if you what the best playback performance from the fronts they need to be the same.

As for the AVR the decoding side is only half of the process, I have learnt that if careful planning, layout and using other electronics like active X-over units audio compressors limiters and EQ’s can make it sound a whole lot different to what you have been tackling with.

If you saw what a Dolby CP-500 cinema processor looked like makes home cinema look like toys.
