i have a home theatre and was wondering if i can make a DVD (on my PC) which can demonstrate my guests what 5.1 is and help me setup my speakers too. or any such kind of thing is available on net to dowload for free?

There is a dolby labs demo dvd available. It includes all of the dolby trailers you see prior to the main movies starting (the ones where the camera zooms into the cinema, the train etc.) it also includes a documentary on the inventor of the process, and the history of dolby labs. You will have to do a search for it on the web though.
