I'm in the process of purchasing all my gear for my new HT setup. One piece I'm debating on is a power conditioner. I've heard varying advice, some from electrical engineers who assure me that these devices are a waste of money, to audio/videophiles who swear by them and would never hook up their systems without one. What are people's thoughts on these? |

Those are a total waste of money, unless your home was built by a blind untrained electrician. |

Can be useful if you live in an area with frequent lightning strikes and or power surges as these units generally also provide surge protection. But don't expect sonic and visual miracles. |

Paul , I will have to disagree with you my friend . I have had mine for a year now and love it. When I first hooked it up I did notice a much sharper picture in hi def and also had much more punch with my sub. To each is own but my advice is to get a conditioner. |
