I am setting up a new home theater system in my basement and will have Canton cd50's for my fronts/center and Canton Inceiling 70's for my surrounds and rears and yet to have picked out a sub for a 7.1 system. I am thinking about the Marantz SR-8400 for the receiver. In my main listening area, I will have 3 in-ceiling speakers and my fourth will be in a bathroom and all are already wired. When watching tv/movies/dvd's, the bathroom speaker won't obviously come into play so are they going to be any issues with it affecting the overall surround sound in the main area? And do I connect the bathroom speaker to my receiver as a "normal" surround speaker in a 7.1 configuration? The bathroom speaker already has only the standard 2 wires running to it. Is the Marantz SR-8400 a good choice for this?

jkwis,

The Marantz is a great choice. Although you may want check out the replacement model, the 8500. Also for less money is the Denon 3805. Personally i would go with the Denon.
