Hi,

Have just shelled out some cash for a marantz sr4400 to connect to my limit hc40 speakers. The aim being to get surround sound through my xbox.

Any ideas on what on earth I have to do to connect the subwoofer? Currently it is connected via a phono lead to the aptly named "subwoofer out" on the back of the marantz. The lead goes through to the back of the subwoofer to the aux in (tried left and right). I can't get a sound, or even a hint of a sound from the subwoofer.

When i enter the test mode on the marantz I can hear all the channels, but when it reaches the subwoofer I hear nothing. I have set the speaker sizes to small/large/medium to no avail. I've turned up the volume so loud on the subwoofer it would make your ears bleed if it did kick in. I've also checked things are actually plugged in :-)

I am a total newbie when it comes to setup of this, so please I assume I have the IQ of a severely retarded hamster when you reply to this :-)

Thanks in advance,

jeff
