Just moved and ripped my home theater system out of the old apartment and have it mostly installed into the new space - everything is set up but the surrounds.

When the system was originally installed by the retailer, they used 4 conductor wire with each conductor connected spearately to the receiver. They sent the wire around the baseboard terminating two conductors at the first surround then simply continuing to the second

Here's the (probably dumb) question: I assume it makes no difference whether I use one 4-conductor wire or two 2-conductor wires to connect the surrounds. Is that right? Just wanted to make sure there was no reason (other than convenience) why they were installed that way. The same cable is used for the front speakers with the 4 conductors twisted together into two.

Any and all help greatly appreciated.
