I have narrowed down my choice of HTIB to either the onyo hts650 vs. the denon DHT 683xp. I am leaning towards the denon system only because I don't like the large size of the denon speakers. Can anyone provide any input on the quality of the denon system though? I found one for $499 at Sears with 10% off. It's hard to find any info on the web about this one.

I just purchased that Denon system (about $465 including S&H) from Next Generation. If you can get it from Sears with 10% off, I'd get it from them (if local to you, you don't have to worry about return shipping costs and Denon's site has a warning about purchasing from non-Denon dealers; I took a chance). It sounds great! I have a p-scan DVD, VCR, and HDTV-ready hooked up to it. I had limited space and didn't care for large speakers. There weren't any opinions on this system that I saw here. Most were on the 650. I again took a chance on Denon's reputation. Good luck.
