I am remodling our family room and want to wire for speakers for surround sound now while the sheetrock is off. I can only afford to wire now & perhaps spend $300-400 for speakers. What do you advise? Can I put the wires in place now and get speakers later? If so are there boxes the speakers fit into? Thanks, Bill

I just pre-wired as well before the sheetrock. But what I did was put wood strapping so that you can mount the speakers directly to the wall. I'm not sure what you mean by boxes the speakers fit into.
