I am upgrading my home theater system (my son will use my older stuff) and would appreciate some imput, as I haven't kept up with video as I should have. I am considering purchasing a Hitachi 57T500 HDTV monitor; my old set is a Hitachi and I have had good luck with it; what are your opinions on this unit, and what sets it apart from the 57S500? I need recommendations for two other items: a DVD player, and a processor. My Fosgate analog processor is a workhorse, but woefully out of date; I bought a Rotel but it fried its chipset (dudious QC). I am not averse to buying equipment used, in fact most of my high end audio gear was acquired used. I will keep using my Acurus amps, and my M&K sub/sats in my home theater. Thanks in advance.
