Hey everyone,
Ok I'm a newb but, I did get some decent equipment. I got a Yamaha 6.1 speaker setup and a Sony STR-DE597 receiver.
Here's my problem. I went to test the 6.1 receiver using the Star Wars dvd. I put it on the scene where they are in the trench of the Death Star. The fx and music came through perfectly but, the voices, I couldn't even hear them.
I tried messing with all of the Dolby Digital modes and with the sound field and Surr Back decoding. None if it worked. The only thing that did seem to work was to change it to 2.1 sound and let the decoder mimic 6.1....any ideas? I would really like to get this solved asap.
Please e-mail me with help, I'm not sure if I can find the forum again. It was difficult finding it in the first place. |

Is the Receiver on auto detect?
Is the DVD player configured to output Digital Signals?
How is the dvd player connected to the receiver?
check on these things first, then get back if you are still having problems. |
