I have concrete floors and I wonder if anyone knows what type of front speakers would sound better, Floorstanding or bookshelf speakers on a stand. Any suggestions on a certain brand of speakers (surround sound) for under a grand?

Strange concrete? in your garage, lol. anyways i think its good cause concrete wont absorb sound like hardwood floor does. Doesnt really matter if its floor or bookshelf. I would recommend the athena micra system.

I have a concrete floor (live in a flat / masionette). I have tried both shelf and floorstanders and find the latter the better. Use spikes and make sure they penetrate the carpet (if you have any) and rest directly on the floor.
