I have just got myself a home theater, speaker/5.1 amplifier.But the amp has six jacks on it, apposing the two on my dvd player (left and right). do i need 2 get andother dvd player? thanks.

Check the back of your DVD player again. You should have 1 or 2 digital outputs, that could be marked Digital Coaxial or Digital Optical or TOS-Link.

Your receiver should also have a Digital input to coincide with the DVD players output.

If the receiver has 6 analog inputs and nothing else, you should get a DVD player that has those same analog outputs.

If not, do your homework again and shop wiser.
