I just purchase a Nakamichi SS8.5 hometheatre system from J&R. But to my great disappointment, the DVD/CD unit does not respond to the control signal mosat of the time and I have to power the whole system off and on again to bring the DVD/CD unit back to live. Also I am disappointed in the sound it actually produces: small and undifferentiating, I can hardly perceive and surround effect no matter how I set it.
Any similar experience or suggestion whether I should keep the system or swap out for another one? What would be a good complete sysatem between 1000-2000 dollars?
By the way, Nakamichi's customer service is sooo bad.
