I just purchased a Samsung DS610 for my first home theater setup. My house is already wired for the rear speakers. The speaker wires that came with the unit have a special connector that plugs in to the receiver. Does anyone know where I can find these connectors?????? |

How special are these connectors? What type of connectors do the samsung have? Are they RCA, clip, banana, screw on, etc?? Will it accept bare wire? |

They are little two prong female connectors. The back of the speakers accept bare wire, but the receiver only accepts these female connectors.

you can strip the existing wires and splice them to the special connectors. |

I thought about splicing. Will that have any effect on the quality of sound? I was concerned that splicing from a heavier wire to a lighter gauge wire would effect the quality. |

You will be fine on short runs. That's a compromise that you may have to deal with on things like this. |
