help, i just recieved the scientific atlanta explorer 8000 cable box and i m going optical into my panasonic home theater system. is it normal that when i turn everything on that it takes a couple minutes for the reciever to recognize between stereo and 5.1, it just blinks between the two until it FINALLY finds a signal and stays w/ it

They say never to shut off the cable box because it takes so long for it to "boot up".
Try leaving the cable box on and just shut off the HTS
