Hi guys, im new to this site and home cinema so please bear with me. I have a sony digital receiver that has all the whistles and bells and so far I can get dolby pro logic working no worries with my two front, two back , centre speaker and sub. I bought a digital coax cable from my local electronics store as I believe I need that to get Dobly Digital, plugged it in to the receiver at one and and the dvd at the other but I still cant get dolby digital sound. The dolby digital sign comes up on my dvd player but I dont know how to get it through my amp. I have phono cables running from the amp to the tv, dvd player etc, is there a cable im missing? Thanks for the help Sorry for being a newb |

have you configured the dvd player to output digital signals? Check your manual for further details. Basically, you have to go to the set-up menu on the dvd player without any dvds in the tray. Go to audio options and turn on Dolby Digital and DTS(if any). Set up your receiver to auto detect. |
