I have home theater speaker wiring problem with Cambridge soundworks 505 home theater in a box system. I recently added kids room in cellar and had the wiring installed in walls and cannot reloate. One end is standard 2 wires while the other end is an RCA jack that connects to the base module (all color coded). I need to add about 6' to the end with the RCA jack. Can I simply buy an RCA extension? Radio shack said they do not have one. They told me to splice the 2 wire end that connects to the speaker, but I cannot pull wires though because contractor tacked them in wall. Any idea on best way to go.

You didn't state if the RCA jack that you want to add to has a male or female end. Either way, lots of companies have extensions you could use. Try partsexpress.com. They should have what you need at a very resonable cost.

What you need is an RCA coupler so you can connect two wires with RCA plugs.
