I'm new to all this home theater systems. I've got most of it figured out, except one thing. I have a yamaha htr-5740 and and Panasonic DVd player. The movie Rush Hour 2 supports 6.1 Discrete and it works fine when playing the movie, but at certain parts of the movie, the Receiver Switches from 6.1 to 5.1 and from Discrete to Matrix and then to Pro Logic. Back and forth rapidly. It looks as tho the receiver can't make up it's mind on which decoder to use! It's kind of annoying and am afraid that it will damage the receiver. Is there a setting I need to fiddle with or is it the software (DVD)? Any input on this would be great help. Thanks!

I've had it go from DD or DTS to Pro Logic II, when the disc was dirty with finger prints, or just a bad disc.
Double check the disc. Rentals are bad about this.....
