I have a Pioneer VSX-D812 receiver. I have a progressive scan DVD player hooked up with an optical cable. My first question is does anyone know what the best mode is for this setup? For example Cinema (Neo 6), Movie (Pro-logic II). I have it on Standard Cinema (Neo 6). Second what db should each speaker be set too? (from 0-10db)
I'm constantly fine tuning it and I can't seem to get the perfect sound. Does anyone know of any universal settings for this receiver? All advice and infomation would be great.

hi,
you should hit Standard-Movie in the receiver part of your remote and click on Signal input-Auto. That way your receiver is set-up to decode whatever signal (Dolby or DTS) on its own. It is the easier and the better way. The advance surround buttons, Cinema(Neo-6) being one of them are only usefull if you have a 6 speaker setup (without the sub) and want to create an extra channel out of 5.1 encoded DVD.
