Hi, I have a Onkyo TX-SR601 6.1 receiver and Bose AM6 5.1 speaker system. I have connected 5.1 chanels of the receiver to 5.1 of AM module, but don't know what to do with back chanel, I have left that open. Please any one advice me whether to buy a speaker and connect to left over chanel? Sales man at CC told me that I can leave that chanel unused. TIW |

you can leave it unused. Check the set-up of your Onkyo, you should be able to turn this off, check the manual. |

Will there be any significant loss of sound quality/effect, if I leave it unused and turn off the chanel? Or will I find significant impovement in sound if I start using that chanel with additional speaker? Thanks. |

There will be no significant loss at all. You have to realize that there are only a handful of material out there that are encoded in 6.1 or 7.1. You don't have a lot of sources available so you can put off getting a new set of speakers for 6.1 I'm still waiting for more sources myself as I have a 7.1 set-up but it hardly gets used. cheers |
