How much help was this dvd for people who needed help with their HTS? I hear its highly recommened to get for anyone. And also how frequently does the company make changes on the dvd?

its excellent for calibrating your hts. You should get a digital sound level meter from Radio shack, too. Haven't heard about frequency of changes, though.

I'd be interested in how 'significant' a difference proper calibration makes. Are we talking about a subtle effect like say bi-wiring or something more significant, say the difference b/w pro-logic and DD? I suppose a lot of it depends on how 'out of whack' my current setup is. Here in Canada it's quite pricey for the sound level meter/avia combo (about C$150). I'm thinking I might be better off calibrating by ear and putting that money into some new DVDs/CDs or towards a SACD/DVD-A player.
