I have an old JBL SCS115 Surround Sound speaker set that I bought with a re-manufactured JVC 664R(?) receiver. The fronts plug into the sub-woofer, and the L/R from the receiver plug into the sub-woofer as well. After a few days the receiver blew a couple of power transistors (?). After spending big-bucks to get it fixed, I bought a couple of JBL J900VM speakers and put the SCS115 in a closet.

Now I'm thinking of getting a Yamaha RX-V2400, and I want to use the speakers from the SCS115 as my surrounds. (Don't know about using the Sub any more. . .) However, I don't want to blow the Yamaha either.

Any ideas on the initial problem? Thought on what I should check before hooking them up?

Thanks
