Yes, I know we discuss these things ad nauseum...but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about these two systems. I'd include discussion about the Kenwood, but that's been talked about and I didn't like the sound of it at all. I haven't been able to hear the Yamaha yet. The recievers alone are similarly priced ($299) but the Yamaha system is about $100 cheaper...so, are the speakers with the Yamaha that much worse?
Also, those that have already decided on the Onkyo, where have you gotten the best prices? |

Don't know if I heard the Yamaha 300, I do know the Yamaha I listened to at BB couldn't hold up to the Onkyo. I got the best price at Circuit City - it was on sale for $499, plus I got a $40 "gift" card, which meant I could get my front speaker stands almost for free. |
