I need recommendations on older songs that are not rap or rock....but like jazzy/classical. I don't know why but every so often I get the urge to listen to songs like that. The only older songs I have right now are New York by Frank Sinatra and Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond. Also, if you know of any older songs like these that have nice bass in them, throw them out here too Thanks guys |

Bublé is awesome. The standards are nice to relax to. Yanks, not sure what genre you're aiming for but I love almost all kinds of music. Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Sammy Davis Jr, Amy Grant, Roberta Flack, Rod Stewart, Harry Connick Jr, just about anything associated with Alan Silvestri, Louis Armstrong.................... Check out Clarence Carter's "Strokin'", you'll love it! Google "The Rat Pack". Anything from those guys is classic. Just for fun, something with a great beat that always gets the girls groovin' is: N-Trance-Stayin' alive. ^^^^^Niiice bass in that one.

Believe it or not , maroon 5's album beore thier current one had really nice rythem. always a classic is billy joel , any of his stuff from piano man to new york state of mind. "run around sue" by Dion gound here has really nice throaty bass i love to here now and then. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLn6pUOd5CE link also google the american graffiti soundtrack. lots and lots of older bass in those classixs you would like. otis redding , sitting on a dock in the bay. America - "sister golden hair" i believe it's the mamas and the papas that sing it but california dreams by them has decent bass. the best thing is google oldies albums and take a look alooooot of old school bass in those songs. btw also "do wop" genere is bass heavy. ok well i'm goin silent till i decide where to go gold at. |

Yanks.. FYI..Sweet Caroline is a Red Sox theme song and staple, played at EVERY Red Sox game, guided by the ushers and billboard, and sung by every Sox fan...John Henry (team owner) and his GF/wife (Caroline) are VERY close friends with Neil Diamond and the Red Sox Nation adopted that song YEARS ago... |

Livingston Taylor - Grandma's Hands goes down to 22 htz Watch your subs on that one. The Ultimate Demonstration Disk? Good CD. I love that song in particular. Anyway, I gotta recommend Miles Davis and Bobby Darin. |

Yanks...U have been given some real good advice and selection here.. if its true Jazz u want Miles Davis is amazing....if ya want some nice mellow more classic music, the newer Rod Stewart and Eric Clapton stuff is good...I myself like it all depending on what type mood...some old Taj Mahal, and Loggins and Messina are always great listening too.. |

Triple post. I remember seeing some videos with a chopped and screwed version of a really old song and while that isn't so descriptive I think you'd know which one I mean if you'd seen the videos. Anyway, if anyone's got the name, I'd be grateful. |

Instead of a new thread, anyone have any hilarious songs with a lot of bass? Doesn't have to be good obviously, just a lot of bass. Songs most people would think wouldn't have bass in them but really do. |

Lol. Well the groups I was interested in back in my day were ABlogic, Corona, Culture Beat(huge for me), Ace of base, Collage, Snap, Two unlimited, Captain Hollywood project, Technotronic, The movement (jump), La Bouche (awesome group), and about a hundred more lol. This phase was right after my rock phase. The chicks in techno clubs were so much hotter than than concerts at the time lol. One track in particular you HAVE to listen to is Culture Beats' "Got to get it" Hypnotic mix. Wear headphones and turn the lights down. Trust me. |
