both of these site i have beened post to add info for people to use, both have been Archive, and i like to know what the reason for it what or is Message Board: Home Video: DVD Players: Connect older TV to DVD, VCR & Digital Cable Box using RF Modulator Use this link to go directly to the discussion: http://forum.ecoustics.com/cgi-bin/bbs/show.pl?2/16195 and Message Board: Home Theater: Home Theater Setup & Planning: The ultimate theatre setup guide Use this link to go directly to the discussion: http://forum.ecoustics.com/cgi-bin/bbs/show.pl?3/113395 i like to know the reason behind the policy Archive, does it realy for saveing space, if so if seen counter production, as people just post a new thread better to keep info on on page then repost it over and over just a thought

The threads in question are still open because they have a "Add Your Message Here" box at the bottom. After a thread reaches 200 posts, the page becomes very long and loads slower, so we archive the oldest 100 posts to an archive page as you have noticed at the top of the page. The most current 100 posts remain on the "active" page and continue to appear in chronological order as they were posted. Anyone can add a reply using the box at the bottom of the page. The archived pages do not allow posting in order to maintain a chronological listing for easy reading. Often times questions are answered on the active page. The links you posted will always link to the current (active) page of that thread, no matter how many posts or archived pages are created. The Previous & Next links at the bottom-right of the page will take a user to the active thread page, or to an archive page (if they exist). |

Our message board currently does not count page views each time a thread is read. I am sure the information you have compiled has helped many. Your support is greatly appreciated. |
