so what im hearing is that if you plan to use a high end, late generation receiver with an HU card, you have to buy it new so it never sees the P4 in the stream. Only then will the HU work in it, as long as it never burns its own eprom with the P4 data...

IS THIS CORRECT? please be definitive as these are expensive and no one wants to waste $500 experimenting.

Please advise.

Did you get this to work? I have an old Panasonic HDTV receiver and I want to upgrade but I'd only do it if a new receiver can take the HU.
