Just getting into this and want to buy a fta system....however,,,after all this reading...I'm not sure...could someone give me their thoughts on which system would be better for a non techie newbie like myself. Are both systems able to get all the same satellite systems when "programmed" correctly? I have and 18 inch satellite by the way.

Ok...now...non techie newbie that I am...how often would I need to upgrad this machine? Do both the pansat and blackbird get the same channels with the 18 inch dave dish I have? I am not interested in Bev channels.
