I recently purchased a few new DVD Movies. One side of the disk was a Fullscreen version and the other was Widescreen version. Was this DVD recorded in the DVD-RAM format? If so, is it possible to record, for example, one hour of TV show episodes on one side of a DVD-RAM disk and then another hour one the other side and then just watch one side at a time on a DVD-RW or DVD-R playback system?

"Was this DVD recorded in the DVD-RAM format?"

Answer: NO

Answer: Again no, once the DVD has been recorded the space is lost. Blank DVD's are only a buck apiece so buy a few. DVD-RAm's are a bit more expensive but will allow you to record over 100,000 times.
