Does anyone own this TV? I just got the latest crutchfield magazine and noticed that it displays at 788p, not at 720p. Can anyone help me understand why the LCD Grand Wega's are 788p? Also, who has this tv who uses a playstation2? Any lag/video/audio sync problems while playing? |

I have a 42" Grand Wega... GWIII's all use the same engine. They have a native resolution of 1386x768 (fixed). I don't know where 'they' came up with 788, unless it's a misprint. As far as the PS2 is concerned, you shouldn't have any sync problems. I run a Xbox on mine. Just make sure you use a component connection (input 5 or 6). |

I use a gamecube on my KF-50WE610 and experience zero lag time, even in racing and fighting games. |

Vin, I'm confused on GWIII resolution. The manual states the # of pixels as 1,092,168. Wouldn't this mean resolution of 1386x788? Every web site seems to have slightly different numbers. |

"The manual states the # of pixels as 1,092,168. Wouldn't this mean resolution of 1386x788?" LoL! Well, I'll be damned! I never thought about looking at the manual... Sony GWIII engines make use of three 0.87" WXGA (Wide XGA) LCD panels (one for each core color: red, green and blue). The 'native resolution' is 1386x788, not 1386x786 as I stated above. You are right! Putting a calculator to it - that would be 1,092,158 pixels per panel or a total picture resolution of "3.28 million dots of crisp, precise picture detail", as Sony puts it (e.g. 1386 x 788 x 3). The overall resolution goes well beyond 788p. GWIII's, of course, support 480i/480p, 720p, 1080i, as well as what Sony lists as 1480i. I don't mean to muddy-up the situation, but technically speaking, since GWIII's are 'fixed' resolution displays, all images ARE scaled to 788p. But, not to worry... Bottom line is: Sony Grand Wega's are certainly High Definition displays if that's what the concern is... |

one question about that. The native resolution of the sony vpl-hs20 is 1386x788 and the maximun resolution from a pc is the same one.. but there is no way or is it to set my monitor resolution to 1386x788.. the closer ones are 1280x800 or 1280x768 and higher 1600x1200. If the projector doesn't asept a higher resolution, well it's not using that 100 extra pixels for 1280. What's the cach? |
