I'm running a cheap radio shack switch from tv to a DVD & VCR. Playing newer video tapes back are now scrambled. Tv has only one line out. Any suggestions on what to do?

If the switch is hooked up properly there shouldn't be a problem, is the DVD a recorder or player?

Probably you are suffering from protection on the tapes. Take a look here

Should have known - The cheap Radio Shack cables I bought were faulty - Bought new ones - no problems now.

Thanks
