I am attempting to hook a magnovox dvd player into the cable box to records shows. The way I have the it hooked now, I can watch a DVD but not record while watching.

I have r/y/w cable from video out on cable box to video in on DVD player. I have r/w/y from video out on dvd to AV1 on tv. old tv, not HD.


The cables are configured so I switch the tv to AV1 and I can watch, but recording doesnt' happen.

Any ideas out there?

Set the recorder on whatever input you connected the cable box to.

BTW, DVD players don't record.
