My girlfriend's Vizio went blank a few weeks back...I don't have all of the information, but I'll give you what I have. Set is approximately 3 years old. Model VX32L Neither of us were watching the TV when the set went out....I'm assuming it was on when the kids were supposed to be watching it...regardless...no one was there to hear a pop or any noises. The screen has power, but it is blank/black/blueish. The "Vizio" lights up when the set is turned on. The set will not respond to any commands...i.e. changing channels, volume. Nor will it power off. There is no sound. After taking off the back panel, there are no obvious visible signs of failure. No black burn marks.... I'd like to try and fix this for her on the cheap...by replacing the main control board or backlight inverter board...but I'm not sure which board would be responsible for these symptoms. It's either that, or the trash.... Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Exact same problem. Didn't see it go out. I left the room when the TV was working and came back to a black screen. Vizio logo still lights but can not turn off without unplugging. The remote and manual keys do not work either. I'm looking to replace the correct board myself. Does anyone know what board to replace? |

Having the exact same problem as original post. Trying to determine which board causes this so it can be replaced. If someone does this, can you please reply to this thread to inform us of the end result? |

I have a Vizio GV47LF HDTV10A with the same problem. The main board has a blown fuse on it with no other visable burns or blown or leaky capacitors. Some have just replaced the fuse or soldered on a pigtail because they could not find the surface mount fuses and replaced them that way. I just piggybacked a fuse on the blown one but it blew again. Same problem so it seems like I am just going to have to order a new main board. The power supply seems ok, the main fuse on it is ok. So if anyone can come up with something else please give a little input. Thanks in advance. |
