I have a 56" Samsung DLP which is a few years old & the only Problem I have had was I needed to replace the bulb a few months ago, The problem that just started is there is a vertical line on left side of screen from top to bottom that is a grey color that you can actually see through, The picture is perfect otherwise but I have this annoying grey ghost line thats about 4" wide on the left side ?? Any Help would be appreciated !!
Thanks Perki

Hi Ron,

The problem may be the light tunnel, basically the light passes through several optical lenses which filters the light, then the light passes through a color wheel and then it reaches your DLP chip, this chip reflects the light into your TV screen, so if a optical lens collapsed this will cause a dark line or bar in your TV, example:

This link shows you how the light passes through the light engine:

This link has more on light tunnel issues:

You'll need to replace the light tunnel to fix this problem, good luck.

Robert
Thank You so much, After going through your 2nd link I gave Samsung a call & they are sending out someone to replace the Light engine or tunnel, The only stipulation was if it is not either I would have to pay the service call, After reading all the posts I have no doubt that this is what my problem is, Again Thank You for the fast reply & Great Info !!
And Cheers to Samsung for standing behind there product, I will post how it all turns out ?
Ron
