i just inherited one of these. i purchased a ridata 2.4x dvd-r DL disk, which should work but the error message states that it does not. i understand the RW disk must be 1x or 2x, but the R should be ok up to 4x, which i am below.
Can anyone point me to a link of some disks which will work on this unit?

I seriously doubt that's capable of burning DL discs. Use Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim DVD-R discs. The lower the speed the better.
