Thread: Samsung 50" DLP picture goes out after short time still have sound |

I have a Samsung HL-R5067W that has been acting strangly. The TV will play normally for anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 hours and the picture will suddenly be gone, however, the sound is still working and the screen is back lit. No picture. I called samsung and they suggested replacing the buld. I replaced the bulb, no change, then the ballast was suggested and I replaced the ballast, only change was that it would last a little bit longer in HD mode before going blank. The other symptom that I have noticed is that the screen will go blank quicker when watching in full screen. To get the picture back all I have to do is turn the TV off for about 30 seconds and it will work again. Anyone have any ideas? |

I still thing that its either the problem of the bulb. Have you installed the bulb correctly, take a look at this video for installing the bulb guide.
